The tradition of the lover padlocks is probably originally from Italy (“Lucchetti dell’Amore”).There lovers attach the locks to a bridge since the 19th Century, to symbolically seal their eternal love.
Through the use of a lock picking set Cooke is able to open most padlocks in a short time without damaging them. In Karlsruhe and Cologne, Cooke has tried to open as many love padlocks as possible in a short time. Every opened lock was recorded and taken by Cooke, as far as it was possible.
