This object was created for the membership exhibition at Badischer Kunstverein. Cooke used the Vitra coat rack which usually stands in the lobby of the Kunstverein to hang empty picture frames on it as if they where coats and jackets.
The title Rahmen machen Bilder, translated Frames make Pictures comes from the german saying „Kleider machen Leute“ (clothes make the man) which originates in Gottfried Keller‘s famous novella from 1874.
